Ukraine is a country in Eastern Europe bordering Russia and one of the largest countries in Europe in terms of both population and land area. Ukraine has had a tumultuous history after the fall of Soviet Union. While there have been attempts to establish friendly relationship with the west and join the European Union, these policies were frequently stopped by Russian intervention into Ukrainian politics. Eventually the population became displeased with the Russian influence in politics, leading to the 2014 Euromaidan protests which resulted in Russia invading Crimea and a pro-Russian insurgency in the region of Donbass. The political situation in Ukraine has been covered from time to time in True Capitalist Radio broadcasts ever since 2012.

Ghost has frequently defended Ukraine in his broadcasts and he heavily criticized the actions and pro-Russian stances of the now former president of Ukraine, Viktor Yanukovych, in his 2012 broadcasts and called for the liberation of the imprisoned Ukrainian politician, Yulia Tymoshenko, and a revolution against the Yanukovych's regime. Ghost reminded people in his return broadcast that he was the only person who was talking about the events in Ukraine in 2012 and that he had clearly understood the threat that Russia posed to the region at the time. Since then, Ghost has praised Donald Trump for his actions in providing to Ukrainian troops and sees this as a definitive proof that Trump isn't pro-Russia
